Eric’s Status Report for 11/7

This week, I worked on trying to get all the necessary components ready for the demo on Monday. This meant writing a lot of software before we wrote any hardware, since we plan for the demo to be completely based in our software co-simulation environment. The encoders, I can say proudly, are finally done–after talking about the parameters that they hold and control with Joe, I have finally settled on a system that will allow us to have the correct level of flexibility without compromising on area. After that, I moved onto the display. There are some important parts of the display to consider when running the software model–for one, it has to interface incredibly closely with the configuration settings module, which means interfacing with the encoders. Because of this, some UI work was done to determine a design (which is included below as an image). Afterwards, I have to deal with the SPI interface to the display. This is something that will definitely be done by Monday–I’m excited for you guys to see it then.
