This week was mainly focused on meetings, design planning, and preparing for the next stage of oscillator development. A large portion of the work involved discussing the implementation plan with the team, aligning on the design direction, and confirming the key circuit parameters so that the project could move forward in a more structured way. I also prepared the updated schematic and supporting figures for Ethan’s Thursday review and continued working on the layout. At this stage, the design values were set to R2 = R3 = 7 kohm and C1 = C2 = 100 pF. Based on these values, the estimated oscillation frequency is about 1 MHz, with a half period of approximately 0.48 us from thalf = 0.69RC, corresponding to a total period of about 0.97 us. In addition, we learned the standard layout workflow and design rules required by HackerFab, which is an essential part of the tapeout process. This should help improve efficiency in the coming week. After completing a first version for Ethan’s Thursday discussion, we expect to accelerate the iteration cycle and target a second version by the end of next week.
