This week, my primary contributions were toward completing the design proposal as well as beginning hardware and software bring-up on the dash cam subsystem. I successfully brought up the Raspberry Pi 5 and began fine-tuning the YOLOv12n model on the annotated pothole dataset, working toward the 90% precision and recall threshold established in our design requirements. I am currently on schedule, and my next steps are to bring up the remaining peripherals, including the GPS transponder and global shutter camera, and to begin developing the software subsystem for concurrent frame capture and GPS coordinate integration.
