Team Status Report for 1/31/2026

The most significant risk would be falling behind due to unknown knowledge/situations. To mitigate this, we will communicate with each other if we have any concerns.  The contingency plan for us is to be actively communicating  and set up meetings and work together. At this point in the project, there has been no changes to the design of our system.

Dylan’s Status Report 1/31/2026

I primarily contributed to the proposal slides by refining use-case requirements and clearly defining project tasks. I also researched existing datasets and evaluated different approaches for pothole detection to inform our technical direction. Overall progress remains on schedule. Moving forward, the next steps include prototyping and testing multiple YOLO model versions, exploring suitable camera hardware modules, setting up an initial code versioning workflow using GitHub, and brainstorming ideas for the computer vision pipeline.

Kevin’s Status Report for 1/31/2026

This week I finished the “Technical Challenges” and “Software Solution” slides for our proposal presentation. I also established what the flow for our software side of our project will look like in the end. I made changes to the requirement numbers and provided justification for why we chose those numbers. I am currently on schedule to finish the scheduled tasks outlined in our project proposal. Next week, I hope complete research on what GPS transponder we are using as well as finishing brainstorming what our website will look like.

Giovanni Maddalozzo Status Report 1/31/2026

Hello, this is my first post! This week I worked on the slides for our project proposal. This meant that I brainstormed things like how we would test, what tasks I would do, and how we potentially might progress in the future. Since we just started I am on schedule for my progress. By next I hope to be done with a large portion of my research. By this I mean that I would have some idea on what some potential ways we could keep our device connected to the internet as well as what backend services might be best for our project. I also want to research microcontrollers and start creating our parts list.
