Team Status Report for 2/26

This week’s work consisted of completing and sharing our design presentation. We discussed the feedback we received from our classmates during the presentation such as the feel of buttons. We also started planning and dividing up the work for the written design review. We haven’t made any major changes to our design, but we might have to slightly change the way we send data wirelessly from the Arduino to the RPi.

The most significant risk is the Bluetooth connection between the Arduino Nano and the Raspberry Pi. We have not been able to send data over Bluetooth despite trying out multiple Bluetooth modules. If we are unable to find something that works then we may have to switch to wifi, or in the worst case, to a physical connection. The Bluetooth connection will most likely be configured after spring break (instead of before) as we are waiting for more components that we ordered to come. Our schedule shouldn’t change that much despite this adjustment since we have some time allotted for small problems.
