This week’s task was to work on the Z rotation. The gripper was originally offloaded across these 3 weeks, but this week I had some additional time to work on it.

Progress This Week

Since Maxine and I looked into how to integrate this week, we realized that integration with how we split up the work was going to be quite seamless. She looked into how to mount the bracket on my rack and pinion structure, and with that, everything else I do automatically updates!

By the Monday demo I had created the shape for the gripper. Now I just had to animate it. Though this ended up being a lot more difficult than anticipated. I used another stepper to create the rotating base and was able to integrate it to the rack and pinion structure.

Next Week’s To-do

Next week, the goal is to finish up the gripper animation as soon as possible. Then begin working on the analysis needed for the final design doc.
