Jerry’s Status Report For 10/24

Accomplishments this week

This week I reviewed the design report feedback we got and worked on making the design decisions, system behavior, and testing procedures clearer. I focused on explaining our choices and separating measured results from assumptions and planned work, addressing most of the feedback.

I continued improving the bench workflow, particularly the camera-view alignment and associating plates with the correct working bar. A local development comparison was able to recover 9 previously unresolved loading decisions without introducing any additional incorrect loading decisions. These results however are limited to the evaluated footage and do not establish the general reliability of the model.

I also began exploring deployment of our local models on the Jetson Orin Nano, including software compatibility and processing requirements. Alongside this, I tested local changes for difficult treadmill views and reducing the unnecessary rack model calls.

Schedule status

Local development progressed, but bench accuracy and complete unattended-event validation remain unfinished. Actual Jetson performance and the integrated camera-to-tablet workflow still need testing.

Deliverables for next week

  • Check the bench improvements across additional views and difficult plate configurations.
  • Evaluate processing time and whether slower checks affect status freshness.
  • Prepare the model dependencies and launch procedure for Jetson testing.
  • Coordinate integration of the three workflows for the interim demo.
