[Alisha] Status Update 11.2.19

[UI]

Incorporated the actual seat map of Hunt instead of the original generic map. Cleaned up some of the UI elements, adding a cleaner visual for the seat map and occupancy indicators. Started researching the feasibility of adding a live location feature to help students navigate to a given desk.

[System]

Spent most of the time working on connecting the sensor system to the app to make sure we have a completed pipeline from the PIR sensor to the sub-hub to the main hub to a web app instance of the mobile app. Had to debug some timing issues. Got a working version ready for the interim demo on Monday that currently updates the occupancy status of a single “carrel” from our single sensor.

[Other]

Finished a CAD drawing for the sensor hub casing. I also mapped out a mock carrel with tape and cardboard in the D-level cubicles to use for testing.

Deliverables for next week

  • Incorporate capacitive sensor data into app and logic for sensor mapping — also includes notification system to library staff
  • Incorporate authentication
  • Test print casing for main sensor hub
  • Final parts order for everything necessary for MVP
  • Build and incorporate a “resource map” of Hunt that includes printers, bathrooms, etc.
  • Decide about integrating live location feature
