[Alisha] Status Update 10.26.19

[UI]

I’ve spent the week taking the app from the baseline wireframe design to a semi-functional prototype. Obviously right now it’s running on dummy data, but at least we have a functional design with our primary MVP component: a “live” map of available seating. The React Native/Firebase stack hasn’t been an entirely seamless process, so debugging that took up a decent amount of time. The next step is to integrate login functionality to the app which will be an interesting challenge, both in successfully incorporating Andrew ID auth, but also integrating the general OAuth sign-on with React Native.

Deliverables for next week

The priority is on our sensor system for sure so my focus is turning back to that to make sure we have a functional overall system prototype ready for the midpoint demo. I’ll be pairing back up with Charlotte on the hardware side to make enough progress on that this week. Our sensor system needs more fine-tuned work that will require two hands on deck.

Additional deliverables if possible:

  • Prototype sensor bundle casing (3D printed casing)
  • Working link to the app
