What did you personally accomplish this week on the project?

This week, I focused on creating three different CAD designs for the Raspberry Pi camera holder. The designs aim to enhance the holder’s compatibility with wall mounting and ensure stability for the camera module. Initial stress and fit simulations revealed some alignment issues, and so i created 3 other designs, which i hope will be more functional and user friendly. They are in the process of being printed.

I conducted testing on several voice recognition models including Google API, OpenAI, BLIP, and CLIP, to evaluate their accuracy and speed in converting speech to text for user queries. The goal was to assess which model would provide the best transcription quality and response time under various conditions. However, Ethan wanted to work on this so the work was passed on so I created dummy ones in order to work on the front-end in the meanwhile

I worked on integrating the voice recognition module into the backend system and created a front-end interface for the voice query page. This involved developing a user-friendly design where users can easily interact with the voice recognition feature. The integration ensures that once a user speaks a query, the voice input is converted to text, processed by the backend, and results are displayed on the front end in real time. I’m currently testing the page’s functionality to ensure smooth communication between the front end and back end.

Is your progress on schedule or behind? If you are behind, what actions will betaken to catch up to the project schedule?

It is on schedule.

What deliverables do you hope to complete in the next week?

Need to merge code and debug front end if needed

Finalise which CAD design we are going to use and create the final setup

Help with final presentation and work on final report
