Iniyaa Status Report for 2/7/2026

This past week I primarily worked on the presentation slides. One question we got during our presentation was how we were going to make our project compatible with all games. We realized that this is not a feasible requirement for MVP and we pivoted to making FlexyBoard compatible with a selection of games. I looked into what games we could use as our “reccomended selection.” The primary game we will be designing the project for is chess. Other games I found were sorry, candy land, chutes and ladders, parcheesi, and ludo. So far we remain on schedule. My next steps are to purchase these games and finalize the list of items necessary for the gantry and magnetic claw.

Researched and created a list of parts and a plan for the hardware integration here:

We are looking into the creation of both the gantry and the CV algorithm for the implementation. We are discussing the pros and cons of finding a low-cost premade gantry with enough working area to support games, versus making a custom one. This is also the case for developing a CV algorithm, versus finding a premade one that will work for our purposes.

Chris Status Report for 2/7/2026

I did two main tasks last week. First I worked on the presentation slides and worked on finalizing those for Sunday’s due date. I then started looking into how we would implement a CV algorithm that would work for a set of boards and be able to communicate with the motors for the magnet. I plan on starting to implement this algorithm next week in actual code with a test setup board before we actually make our own. I also added rough costs for how much each component that we need are.
