Team Status Report for 2/20

Changes to Design:

  • We are now building an autonomous robot that operates on workshop floors to identify color-marked tools that have dropped onto the floor, move to identified objects, and pick them up using a gripper to put into the robots bin.

 

Significant risks:

  • Parts coming late
  • Simulate robot data so that we can continue to develop
    • Time delay due to parts breaking
  • Order extra parts and leave room in budget for more
    • Gripper ripping
  • Grab only smooth objects
    • Gripper not making enough contact when grabbing thin objects
    • Use thicker objects
  • Robot stability when center of mass shifts due to arm movement
    • Use less mass for arm
    • Add counter balance
