Introduction and Project Summary

  • Tools fall on the floor all the time in garages and mechanical workshops
  • Currently, people have to pick up objects on the floor manually
    • Items can range from tools, nails, scraps
    • Attention is taken away from the task at hand to clean up
    • Physical labor has to be exerted to move to the spot and pick up the object

Our Robot will pick up objects at the user’s command and place the objects on its wagon. It is able to:

  • Detect location of object to grab 
    • Small objects (firm or semi-malleable items that can be found in workshops)
  • Detect location to move to on well-lit indoor flat surfaces 
  • Grab identified items and place it into the robots carrying bin.
  • Operate autonomously
