The latter half of this week saw a flurry of activity and development as the team clawed out of the doldrums of the past couple weeks.
After having little to show for the first half of the week, the team wrote out an action plan for getting back on track. This plan included having a greater focus on daily team communication, stricter adherence to keeping meeting minutes, and the creation of a personal work record for tracking each member’s individual contributions on a day-to-day basis. With logistics covered, we dove right into development.
Greg took the lead on wrapping up the design report, while Lucas focused on settling the remaining hardware trade studies.
We placed orders for wire mesh, a water pump, tubing, and mylar insulation. We also selected a relay module at the end of the week to be ordered by Monday. With these parts on the way, almost all of the project has been ordered at this point with the only remaining portions being the 80/20 mechanical hardware, fans, and a solenoid.
We are still behind schedule, but confident that we’ll catch up given our new pace of development. We expect the design report to finally be ready within this upcoming week. By next week we’ll have a complete CAD assembly of the device and also expect to have several electrical subsystems ready such as lighting and watering. With Lucas continuing manual grow trials and Greg starting them as well, this upcoming week will add a large amount of data to use for project evaluation.
