Progress report for week ending on May 03, 2018

Finished manual-mode program to run all motors

Monday, April 30, 2018 Found a bug in the bottle rotation stepper driver function. The bottle rotation function would check the horizontal stepper stage instead of the rotation stepper stage. Also found an error in the bit stream to the bottle rotation stepper control pins -Spencer, Evan

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

Broke the 6212 H bridge used to drive phase B of the bottle rotation servo. Successfully removed the broken chip and placed an order for 2 extras. -Not saying who did this

Installed wider timing belt and pulleys. This eliminated slipping of the timing belt. -Spencer

Wednesday, May 2, 2018

Fixed delay function to avoid problems with overflow. -Evan

Replaced the original bottle rotation stepper driver with an L298 and it worked. Soldered LED display with 2 10-LED bar graphs and 4 tactile switches. -Spencer

Tested bottle capping by running a manual-mode program (user pushes buttons to move the cap z and capper). -Evan, Spencer

Troubleshooted the 12V DC motor H bridge. The multimeter was only reading 6V going to the motor, but when the motor was disconnected, the output was 12V. I thought the problem may have been the L298 IC, but I after I looked at the control signals going to the L298, I saw that they were squarewaves at about 200 kHz with around 60% duty cycle. Evan will further troubleshoot and configure the pins to output the proper duty cycle to drive the capper with enough torque. -Spencer
