The most significant risk for the lock remains to be Bluetooth integration. To manage this risk, we’ve moved from the Seeed microcontroller in the lock to the Arduino Uno and have ordered a BT module that is looking promising. This is also the case for the app, because we might run into unexpected errors that would delay our timeline.
The lock block diagram has officially been changed to reflect the microcontroller switch and additional modules needed for full functionality. As reflected in the wire diagram in Jada’s status report, the new additions aside from the microcontroller include the BT module and the microSD card module. This diagram may still change depending on song functionality, potential future switching from lock solenoid to stepper motor, and adding a battery connection. This most recent change has incurred a small cost, but for parts that will hopefully be kept for the final product.
