We are ECE Spring 2020 Capstone Team C0. Our goal is to recreate the classic Game Boy by building a cycle accurate emulation of it on an FPGA. The Game Boi will support all the functionality that the original Game Boy can to create a faithful replication. The two main differences are the games will be pre-downloaded onto the FPGA so there will be no need for cartridges, and the controller will be an NES controller. Our design will strive to minimize input and output latency and match the frame rate of the Game Boy to have the best potential user experience. We hope to give users the ability to relive one of the classic game consoles that we all know and love.
