EmotiSense is a tool designed to help autistic individuals better understand and respond to emotions during conversations. Using a simple webcam, the system captures real-time video focused on the face of the user’s conversational partner. We will run this video through facial recognition algorithms to recognize the emotional state of the person the user is interacting with.
This information is then displayed visually on an iPad display and on a wearable bracelet providing haptic feedback through vibrations and LED lights. This will help the user understand the emotional tone of the conversation in order to make real-time changes. Our goal is to create a seamless, easy-to-use tool that improves communication for neurodivergent individuals by offering both visual and tactile emotional feedback.
