This equipment is intended to allow students who are unfamiliar with magnetic recording to quickly and simply gain insight into the signals associated with this process. This set-up consists of a modified audio tape deck and a custom-built signal switching box. The deck has been modified such that the student can input an arbitrary recording waveform, and see the resultant readback signal. The switching box simplifies such user functions as read/write select, pause, etc. This set-up is used in conjunction with a function generator, a DC power supply and an oscilloscope. |
