We are developing a gesture-controlled volumetric display that creates the illusion of a 3D hologram visible without VR headsets or glasses. By spinning two back-to-back LED panels at high speeds (600 RPM), the system creates the illusion of a cohesive, cylindrical volume of light. Beyond creating a static image, our design integrates real-time computer vision to track hand movements, allowing users to manipulate the floating object with natural gestures. This project aims to bridge the physical and digital worlds with a responsive, fluid interface that reacts to the user in under 100 milliseconds.
