Introduction and Project Summary

Large event attendees often opt to check in their coats with dedicated coat check attendants, allowing them to fully enjoy the event unburdened by bulky personal items. There may also be security concerns of why guests need to hand over their items. This storing and retrieval process, usually time-consuming, first involves handing over their coats to attendants and receiving a corresponding ticket for identification. Upon retrieval, attendants have to look through numerous customer items, slowing down the retrieval process and creating inconvenience to the customers. Attendees may also misplace their tickets, resulting in a long and arduous item retrieval process. The purpose of our project is to autonomize this process by removing the involvement of the attendant and improving item search by making it automatic. The main components for this project will therefore include a user-friendly web application, robust face detection capabilities, and a physical rack where users can place their items.
