Introduction and Project Summary

Limited cost-effective options exist for learning about electromagnetics and magnetic force fundamentals. Magnetic levitation, known as Maglev, is an impressive application with widespread use, particularly in high-speed Maglev Trains in Europe and Asia. These trains, operating frictionlessly due to magnetic levitation, offer efficient and clean transportation. However, affordable model Maglev trains are scarce, often either expensive or requiring hard-to-find materials like liquid nitrogen. The design goals focus on creating a user-friendly remote-controlled model with a magnetic levitation system to measure metrics such as train speed and levitation height. Overall the target audience is those who want to learn about Maglev mechanics in a fun and interactive way.
