Rachana’s Status Report for Apr 29

Personal Accomplishments

This week, I was working on the UI functionality. I had alot of other commitments, so working on the recommendations was a little difficult. The integration for the three different modes of audio input work well so it allows me to record, search or upload a file. The MediaRecorder stream was fun to play around with.

I want to currently work on getting recommendations based on the features of the song extracted on spotify, and display that for the user. We prefetch these songs for the user so in the event the user chooses to select these songs, it’s going to be quick to get the signal parameters for the lighting engine.

Testing wise, we tested for concurrency for user commands and main queue commands, we tested for whether the values we extracted match up to the beat time stamps, whether it matches the hand labeled file, and whether we could extract song information quickly from shazam and spotify workflow so it doesnt eat up into the latency too much.

On Track?

We are on track. We are just trying to tie up missing ends together. We are also trying to hit some stretch goals to see if we can better our application.

Goals for Next Week

integration, integration and more integration. We want to run a few stress tests and see if our system is responding well to different audio files, and see if our amortized cost in latency can be reduced through prefetching files for consequent iterations. We do have a few finals coming up next week, so we are going to squeeze in times for poster, demo video, and report as much as possible.
