Justin’s Status Report for 4-1-23

This week I finished work on the Radio transceivers. I also started working on attaching the microcontrollers to the cue stick, as well as making them more stable. Before this week, I simply wrapped the wires together, which means they could slip apart. Now I am soldering the wires to the sensors and Arduinos to prevent this. It also has the added benefit of making sure the sensors (namely the position sensor) stay stable relative to the Arduino. I have also started work on calibrating the sensors to make sure they are accurate and stable. This was simple for the acceleration sensor, but is much trickier for the position sensor, as it needs to always know which way is down. Currently, I am on schedule. I did not budget explicit time for this in the schedule but I have some buffer time. Next week I plan to finish soldering the components together and be start working on attaching the Arduinos to the pool cue and table. I am also going to test if forcing the user to keep the pool cue level will provide easy-to-interpret data. I also will be working on integrating my system with both Jimmy’s and Devank’s code.
