Introduction and Project Summary

Our team is building a virtual reality ping pong game designed to make remote, long-distance interactions more personal and engaging.  The product will consists of two physical components: the VR headset and the sensor-integrated ping pong paddle.  The VR headset displays the graphics and provides network communication between two players, and the paddle keeps track of the orientation, acceleration, and position of the paddle which it transmits to the headset.  Our expectation is to make the product feel like you are playing with another person in real-life. We plan on achieving this is by lowering the time it takes to transmit data and making the graphics mirror a user’s movements as accurately as possible.
