Aryan’s Status Report 03/13

This week we had the design review presentation and I worked on implementing the slides for the design review presentation. The main slides I worked on was the software layer slide, and the project management slide.

We also finalized the master ordering list and placed the orders using the forms provided to us on Canvas. We have received the orders today and picked them up from the ECE department and we will begin separating and sequencing these parts into the stages of the project so that when we start implementation and building will be easier.

We have also begun work on our formal design review submission and I aim to complete my sections (Abstract, Introduction, Risk Mitigation, Bill of Materials, Cost Management and Project management) by EOD Monday.

Tyler’s Status Report 3/6

I spent this week finalizing the review design presentation slides for our group. I focused mainly on the Application Area, Solution Approach, and Implementation Plan slides, while also helping out in large part with the Bill of Materials. In addition, I helped Tom with the Risk Factors and Mitigation slide and came up with the idea of using a laser to keep track of the position of the cup.

This week I worked on designing the software layer of the project (interaction between the application and user) as well as going through all specific parts required for the ordering of the project and finalized our master ordering list.

I also updated our Gantt chart for the project to make sure the project management section of our slides (design presentation) was up to date.

Team Status Report for 3/6

At this point in our project, out most significant risk is parts we want to order being out of stock. We’ve been periodically monitoring how much of each part we want is left in stock and have several back-up options for many of our parts. We’re also prepared to slightly modify our design if needed to accommodate certain parts being out of stock.

Thomas’ Status Report for 3/6

This week I worked on finalizing our design presentation slides. I constructed our system diagram and completed the testing, metrics and validation portions of our slideshow.

I also assisted in the creation of our BOM. After doing some research, I proposed we use peristaltic pumps to most easily keep track of the amount of liquid dispensed. This is much faster and more flexible than using dispensers with preset quantities.

The peristaltic pumps we’re planning on ordering:

My progress is on time at this point in the design process. This upcoming week, I plan to complete and polish our design presentation slides. In addition, I’ll be working towards completing our Design Review Report and getting our parts ordered.

Tyler’s Status Report 02/27

This week I worked with Aryan and Tom to prepare our design report presentation. We focused heavily on our Bill of Materials and we’re coming close to finishing it. We plan on finalizing our design report over the coming week and going over our presentation. Once completed, we plan on beginning to purchase materials for our project.

Aryan’s Status Report 02/27

Worked with Tyler and Tom to start the slides and presentation for the design report due next week. Overlooked my personal reviews from the proposal presentation that Professor Tamal sent me  to better my presentation skills as well as worked on developing a master purchasing list for all materials needed for the project

Thomas’ status report 2/27

For this past week I’ve been looking into potential visual sensors we would use for our project to include in our BOM. We’re nearly finished with  completing our BOM and will be moving on to the remaining requirements of the design proposal. By next status check, My team and I plan on being nearly completed with our project proposal so we can spend the next couple days polishing up our presentation.
