Aryan’s Status Report 4/3

This week I worked closely with Tyler to finish the fundamental implementation of the application. While Tyler worked on the UI and the navigation from screens, I was working on the database implementation and database modeling section. I had to read a lot of swift and Xcode documentation to understand how this works as I had no prior experience in using swift or  Xcode.

 

The database is Implemented with built-in SwiftUI features, and is native to Xcode and hence is much easier to integrate that third-party data bases such as my mySQL sqlLite. Overall I’m very happy with this week’s progress as these were the toughest stages in app development. The plan for the next week is to work on hard coding drinks data and ingredients data so as to create pages where users can choose a drink. Following this, our plan will be to integrate Bluetooth connectivity from app to robot in order for the user To be able to communicate with the robot.

Aryan’s Status Report (03/27)

This week Tom, Tyler and I met early in the week to finalize and complete our design report submission which was due on Wednesday. I was primarily focused on the design requirements for the project as well as the software system diagram. I created a new software system diagram along with Tyler as seen below:

The design requirements section was where we formalized our points from both the proposal presentation as well as the design presentation and hence helped us refine our ideas a little more and helped me gain a lot of clarity on the final product specification and designs. I truly do understand the benefits of this design and presentation process now as if it weren’t for this I believe that it would’ve been a lot harder for us in the implementation stage as we would not have accounted for so many external factors.

Aryan’s Status Report 03/13

This week we had the design review presentation and I worked on implementing the slides for the design review presentation. The main slides I worked on was the software layer slide, and the project management slide.

We also finalized the master ordering list and placed the orders using the forms provided to us on Canvas. We have received the orders today and picked them up from the ECE department and we will begin separating and sequencing these parts into the stages of the project so that when we start implementation and building will be easier.

We have also begun work on our formal design review submission and I aim to complete my sections (Abstract, Introduction, Risk Mitigation, Bill of Materials, Cost Management and Project management) by EOD Monday.

Aryan status report (03/06)

This week I worked on designing the software layer of the project (interaction between the application and user) as well as going through all specific parts required for the ordering of the project and finalized our master ordering list.

I also updated our Gantt chart for the project to make sure the project management section of our slides (design presentation) was up to date.

Aryan’s Status Report 02/27

Worked with Tyler and Tom to start the slides and presentation for the design report due next week. Overlooked my personal reviews from the proposal presentation that Professor Tamal sent me  to better my presentation skills as well as worked on developing a master purchasing list for all materials needed for the project

Aryan Chordia (Week of 02/15)

Revised our abstract internally based on feedback from Professor and TA. Created website to be hosted on WordPress and followed guidance as well as finished presentation slides for proposal.

My tasks:

  1. Complete Use cases and Requirements section of the proposal
  2. Research the required hardware and parts to be bought for the proposal
  3. Research swift for iOS coding and review MQTT protocol for communication between raspberry pi and phone application
