Welcome to Team B1 of Carnegie Mellon University: ECE Capstone Projects.
Our project consists of a camera set-up that will scan the position of the driver of a vehicle and assess whether the driver is distracted while driving— falling asleep, looking off to the side, looking at a phone or other device, etc. If it is determined that the driver is indeed distracted, the driver will be alerted so as to correct their behavior to avoid an accident. This project intends to be a solution that will help keep roadways safer as accidents due to distracted driving have increased over recent years.
