Accomplishments this week

1. Setup Electrical Component
  • Plug-to-wall DC voltage source is delivered on Wednesday, along with the entire hardware items left in the ECE lab before spring break.
  • Spend some time check and re-wiring the circuit. Then set up the Pi again on local WiFi network, similar to previous procedures
  • In Wednesday’s meeting, Professor Sullivan introduced me the Digikey Analog Discovery 2 kit to do oscilloscope testing. I reached out to Quinn and Jens to compare this kit to Analog Discovery 1. I went over the online tutorials for this tool kit to understand what function it has and what function I need. Due to the complexity in shipping the entire kit, I would like to try passing in pulse response to do position control first. If I couldn’t debug the circuit, I will order this tool kit.
2. CAD Simulation
  • Build CAD Assembly
    • The stepper motor and the servo CAD are found on the GrabCAD
    • Use Mate/Rotation tools to do a CAD assembly
    • Currently I am unable to find an exact CAD of the servo’s wheel on GrabCAD, so I will either draw my own next week or use an exist CAD of some other wheel to demonstrate the simulation

  • Learn CAD Simulation

Progress for schedule:

  • Changed schedule

Deliverables I hope to accomplish next week:

  • Implement position control on the stepper motors
  • Order Digikey Analog Discovery 2 if necessary
  • Build CAD simulation
