Introduction and Project Summary

This project focuses on paralleling and speeding up the N-body algorithm which is used to predict, galaxy formations and molecular behaviors. To boost performance and efficiency, we’re utilizing Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), for parallel processing. We’ll carefully choose the best simulation methods, configure the FPGA hardware, develop the necessary software code, and rigorously test the system. The end result will be a potent tool for scientists to conduct research in astrophysics, thanks to the FPGA’s computational prowess it should be multitudes faster than running the algorithm on a CPU or even a GPU.
