Introduction and Project Summary

Have you ever wanted to experience what Tony Stark feels when he’s inside his Iron Man suit and interacting with his virtual interface? We thought that the way he is able to move objects around and interact with things on his display by just moving his arms around was a very cool concept to explore. The Virtual Whiteboard brings this idea to a desktop environment, where through the detection of hand gestures and motion, a user will be able to control the mouse without having to physically touch any equipment! The goal is to build a system that uses cameras and computer vision to detect hand movement to control the motion and clicking and holding features of a mouse. Currently, the most advanced mainstream technology in this department is touch screen controls, but our system will go beyond that and provide the users a touchless experience entirely!
