LI: Pixel-Based (MFMCTI) [2]
PROS:
- Faster than Motion-Compensated Temporal Frame Interpolation (MCTI).
- Avoids blocking artifacts resulting from MCTI and Fast MCTI (FMCTI).
- Low complexity, easy to implement.
- Slightly higher PSNR than MCTI and FMCTI.
Assume linear 2-D translation.
Assign each pixel to one of four classes.
Either take an average to interpolate a pixel, or copy pixel from previous or next frame.
