PROJECT CONCEPT
SmartPackage is a smart delivery system. It will have multiple attachments for different purposes, which will aim to have self-sustainability (net energy output), full connectivity on the package with different types of sensors.
MOTIVATION
- Create mobile affordable climate controlled environment for portable embedded applications
- Provide fine-grained temperature control with real-time monitoring of ambient temperature and mechanism to adjust temperature
- Utilize existing off-the-shelf portable computing
- We propose a smart-package and takes advantage of computing to deliver targeted heating and cooling, and delivers functionality to the user's package on the go, helping the user more easily monitor their packages.
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
- No solutions currently on the market

- Affordable but long lasting (and self-sustainable)
- Doesn’t weigh significantly more than regular package
- Attachments can be easily added and switched out (plug-and-play)
RISKS & MITIGATION STRATEGIES
- Cost Explosion
- Mitigation: We will seek low-cost but high quality parts, and conventional but tested components
- Redundancy to User
- Mitigation: We will design with modularity in mind, features can be selected at time of purchase
- Complexity Explosion
- Mitigation: We will design in stages, focusing on adding functionality to the jacket at each stage.
TIME LAPSE
