Progress
We took the first steps to making Garbougie come to life this week. Although our most important parts have not come in yet (the Raspberry Pi, the mic, the camera, the capacitive sensor, and our main sensor box), we were able to borrow the same models of camera, mic, and pi. We each collected some of the example recycling items we will be using to train our image classifier and trinitory sensor. In order to test out sensor readings, we recorded these objects dropping from a similar height onto a similar material to our box. We captured waveforms to analyze how distinct they were for each object, and we were pleasantly suprised with our results. Additionally, we were able to capture and save an image on Pi by using a camera. We have also been working on the design documentation for Garbougie this week.
Divison of Labor
This week, we all worked with the sensors together to get them up and running. During Spring Break, Alvin will be working towards building the load sensor while Tushita and Ananya will be working out the design of the sensor box itself.
