Team Status Report For 04/29/2023

The significant risk that could jeopardize the success of the project right now is that we haven’t integrated our system yet and each team member is still working on perfecting our individual parts. To manage this risk, we will be dedicating the majority of the final week to work on this and make sure we achieve the final product before working on the final report. Right now we have most of everything ready and the only thing we aren’t exactly sure about is the performance of the algorithm on a full video. If we are unable to meet the performance benchmark before the demo (hopefully this scenario won’t happen), we can sample a smaller amount of frames from the video and feed it into the algorithm which should improve the performance. The accuracy shouldn’t be affected as we notice frames that are very close together have very similar numbers and hence it seems to us that the algorithm is processing more frames than it should. However, our ideal solution is process all the available frames but if we are unable to meet the performance benchmark by the deadline then this could be a good contingency plan.

There’s no further change our the existing design except for the linear regression model. This change is necessary for the accuracy of the results. No cost is incurred.
