Introduction and Project Summary

Mining cryptocurrencies is a field where hash rates matter a lot and so people tend to use specialized hardware. As their name suggests, however, specialized hardware only works for a specific cryptocurrency and tends to be very expensive. Our project hopes to make a more flexible miner with FPGAs that can choose for itself which  currency to mine. The user will also have a web app where they can choose how they want to configure the miner and keep track of how the miner is doing.
