For our seminar, we want to introduce the fundamental concepts of a 3D graphic language, Open GL, as well as some of its typical applications. Therefor, we will first give a short overview of the syntax and concepts of the language (Vertex-to-pixel, matrix transformations, lightning, etc.) and the necessary hardware. Afterward, we will talk about what has already be done using Open GL (special effects, games, medical and geological imaging, etc.), using some demos, as well as about what could be done. We conclude our seminar by some advanced features, i.e. extensions, and future applications for the language.

At this point, our principal reference book is "Open GL, programming for windows 95 & NT", by Ron Fosner. However, we would like to find some papers about actual research on Open GL or some new applications for it.
