Many students often struggle to maintain focus during long study sessions, leading to reduced productivity and motivation. Existing solutions often lack real-time user engagement and reward mechanisms that encourage session completion.
From our own experiences, something we’ve often noticed limits our own productivity in our day-to-day lives is having a lack of dedicated and structured work sessions, as well as falling victim to procrastination, which we feel is enhanced by the want for instant gratification and oftentimes disguised as an excuse to go to the vending machine or go on social media for a couple minutes. Our vending machine aims to provide a solution to this productivity problem by helping users apply more structure around their work sessions and providing a reward system, which only comes into play after they’ve worked for a certain amount of time.
Our vending machine will function the same way as a regular vending machine (at a miniaturized scale), where the user will be able to choose a certain item to dispense. However, at the same time, it will also prompt the user to select a specific amount of time, which corresponds to the amount of time the user will have to wait, or or work for, until the vending machine dispenses their item/candy.
