Maddie Status Report (4/12/25)

This week, most of my time was spent soldering our arduino and motors onto a protoboard, rather than the solderless breadboard that was prone to wires moving. This will allow us to handle the boat a bit less cautiously, as well as making waterproofing easier

This week, most of my time was spent working on the general boat structure in preparation for our interim demo. Our propeller motors ended up not being waterproof and all of the waterproof motors that we could purchase were either too expensive or wouldn’t come

This week has definitely been a bit slower than I intended. I’ve faced some issues with parts being ordered/delivered, which has slowed progress on working on the Z-direction movement. That being said, I have constructed a makeshift spool which should allow for us to still

Over the last two weeks, most of my time went towards working on the design report, as well as continuing to work on the image stitching algorithm. Because of some travel hiccups, I did not get everything that I planned in my last status report

The start of my week was focused on preparing to present our design review, which happened Monday and (I think) went well! Since then I have been pretty sick, but was able to – thanks to a cocktail of basically every over-the-counter cold medicine known

This week, most of my time was spent creating and preparing to present our design slidedeck. Abie and Emma have been at a swim meet since Tuesday, so I met with Prof Kim on Wednesday and together we refined some details of our design, specifically

Maddie Status Report (2/2 – 2/8)

This week, most of my capstone project time was spent designing the mechanism for raising and lowering the underwater component from the boat base. Currently, I’m leaning towards using a stepper motor-driven spool. The mechanism will also have a level wind mechanism, which will make
