Abigael Status Report (4/26)
This week, I spent a lot of time waterproofing and testing the boat as a complete unit in the UC pool. Emma and I spent a significant amount of time reworking the physical design and waterproofing after we identified several issues where the boat was taking on water and needed additional floatation devices to remain in the proper position. We were able to improve several features in the design and plan on filming our demo video (using my GoPro!) in the UC pool tomorrow in order to give the silicone coating and fresh caulk on the boat time to cure. I am still in the process of tweaking the ML algorithm as most of my time was spent redoing construction on the boat, but I believe that I will have time to finish this before final specifications are due. In the upcoming week I plan on working on the poster and final review doc as part of the last push for capstone. Overall, I think our group has been able to overcome a lot of challenges related to choosing an underwater project and I believe that we are in a good position for the final demo on Thursday.
