Emma’s Status Report (4/26/2025)

This week, I presented the final presentation in class. I practiced the presentation Monday and Tuesday and gave the presentation on Wednesday. I also constructed the walls of the boat, and did all of the additional waterproofing with Abie and Maddie. I went with Abie to test the boat in the water and controlled the motors with the Arduino cloud while we were there. I started working on the poster by downloading the template, making the colors pretty, and writing the project pitch. Overall, a lot of the work I did this week was physical boat construction with Abie, which took a long time and we are in our second iteration of our design. I also thought about the issues we had during the first test and made sure they were addressed for our second attempt tomorrow (4/27). Tomorrow, Abie and I are planning on going to the pool for a second round of testing. We plan on filming our video on her GoPro, demonstrating the Z direction movement of the camera, forward and turning movements, and an up close video of our boat construction. We are planning ahead by bringing extra supplies in case we need to adjust things like the floatation and weight distribution in the boat. Overall, we are doing well and are overcoming waterproofing challenges at the moment. I will be finalizing the propellor control before the demonstration so that it is more user friendly and moves the boat in a straight line. I believe that we are still on schedule, and I do not see any big challenges lying ahead
