Abigael Status Report (4/19/25)
This week, I set up a meeting with the CMU Aquatics director that Emma and I attended in order to coordinate times that we could test our project in the UC pool. We also confirmed that we will be able to demo in the diving well during the final demo slot. Emma and I also spent a significant amount of time testing the camera and submersible unit in the pool for image quality and waterproofness. Our initial iteration was not completely watertight, and this resulted in one of our long camera cables being ruined. Thankfully, Maddie was able to laser cut a new design out of clear acrylic, which was much more waterproof. The only issue with this unit is that it is very buoyant, so I am looking into attachments to weigh it down. I also ordered more materials to waterproof the camera cables and overall boat, as well as spare parts that I plan to prepare in case something goes wrong in the demo. This includes extra Arduinos, another camera, more camera cables, and waterproofing equipment. Lastly I have spent time improving the ML algorithm and producing Testing Metrics, which I will be adding the the Final Presentation Slides.
