{"id":222,"date":"2025-04-27T11:39:25","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T16:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s25-teamb1\/?p=222"},"modified":"2025-04-27T11:39:25","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T16:39:25","slug":"diyas-status-report-for-04-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s25-teamb1\/2025\/04\/27\/diyas-status-report-for-04-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Diya&#8217;s Status Report for 04\/26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">This week I worked on the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Performed unit tests for individual system components including gesture recognition, web analytics tracking, recommendation system logic, and UI responsiveness.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Conducted overall system tests integrating some components in particular communication between gesture-controlled hardware and web application.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">debugged real-time analytics logging since the data was not displaying on the webapp correctly.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">started UI refinements following feedback from user testing in terms of the navigation on the webapp and enhance analytics visualization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Unit Tests Conducted:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Gesture Recognition:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Tested gesture recognition accuracy at varying distances (increments of 10 cm up to 1 meter).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Evaluated gesture differentiation under simultaneous two-hand gestures.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Confirmed alignment of camera positioning to simulate realistic user conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Web Application:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Confirmed API endpoints for analytics and making sure that the captured timestamps and events are accurate.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Tested favorite\/saved recipe functionality and ensured consistency of UI states after user interaction.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Conducted unit tests on recommendation logic including:\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Recipe recommendation based on cooking duration<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Tag-based recipe recommendations<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Recipe suggestions considering ingredient overlap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Analytics System:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Confirmed accuracy of analytics data representation using simulated data scenarios<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Validated functionality of session data visualizations (time-per-step graphs, variance from estimated times)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Overall System Integration Tests:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">tested the data flow between gesture recognition hardware and Django backend<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">tested the real time responsiveness of the system under typical user interactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Findings and Design Changes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Gesture recognition proved highly accurate I just made some minor calibration adjustments for optimal performance at maximum tested distance<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">User feedback highlighted an overly complex web navigation structure so I am currently reducing the number of web pages to simplify user flow so next steps for me includes improving UI to clearly display analytics results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Next Steps:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Complete ongoing UI changes as mentioned above<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Conduct final system validation tests post-UI adjustments to confirm enhancements have positively impacted user experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week I worked on the following: Performed unit tests for individual system components including gesture recognition, web analytics tracking, recommendation system logic, and UI responsiveness.
