{"id":148,"date":"2025-03-29T20:55:23","date_gmt":"2025-03-30T01:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s25-teamb1\/?p=148"},"modified":"2025-04-12T19:25:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-13T00:25:09","slug":"diyas-status-report-for-29-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s25-teamb1\/2025\/03\/29\/diyas-status-report-for-29-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Diya&#8217;s Status Report for 29 March 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">After getting feedback to increase the complexity of my contributions beyond gesture recognition, I\u2019ve significantly expanded my role across both software and hardware components of the project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Hardware\/CAD:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">I supported Rebecca by taking over the CAD design for the smart glasses. Although this is my first time working with CAD, I\u2019ve been proactive in learning and contributing to the hardware aspect of the project.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Frontend Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">I added TailwindCSS and javascript to enhance the styling of our web app interface.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">I also redesigned the frontend structure since the original wireframes didn\u2019t align with the actual website architecture. I restructured and implemented a layout that better<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">\u00a0suits our tech stack and user experience goals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Integration Work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">I successfully integrated the gesture recognition system with Charvi\u2019s display functionality,. This now allows for seamless communication between hand gestures and what is shown on the glasses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">I plan to integrate the recipe database with the Pygame-based display, enabling users to view and interact with individual recipes on the smart glasses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This past week, I definitely went beyond the expected 12 hours of work. I\u2019m feeling confident about our current progress and believe we\u2019re in a strong position for the interim demo.
