Personal accomplishments for the week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">1.1 Identification of equipment for procurement<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Quantities of items below include spares<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waveshare.com\/imx219-160-camera.htm?sku=16662\">IMX219-160 (FOV 160\u00b0)<\/a> camera<br \/>\nCost: $20 per unit<br \/>\nQuantity: 3I did some research on cameras that would be suitable for our envisioned use case. Our use case imposes the following requirements for the camera system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High color accuracy and dynamic range<\/li>\n<li>High resolution\u00a0\u2014 at least 5MP<\/li>\n<li>High field of view (FOV)\u00a0 \u2014 at least 120\u00b0<\/li>\n<li>Small form factor \u2014 less than 2 inches in each dimension<\/li>\n<li>Low power<\/li>\n<li>Low noise<\/li>\n<li>Low cost \u2014 less than $30 per camera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I decided that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waveshare.com\/imx219-160-camera.htm?sku=16662\">IMX219-160 (FOV 160\u00b0)<\/a>\u00a0was a suitable choice of camera. In addition to exceeding cost saving expectations, it provides the added benefit of easy Raspberry Pi (RPi) integration. This led to the decision to build the slider ourselves. I am referencing this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instructables.com\/Make-a-Motorized-Camera-Slider\/\">DIY tutorial<\/a>, we will only deviate from by using an RPi instead of an Arduino.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">2. Progress status<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am currently on schedule and have completed the tasks set out for the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Goals for upcoming week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the upcoming week, I would like to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquire the equipment outlined above<\/li>\n<li>Test the camera within the confines of the fridge<\/li>\n<li>Develop data transmission pipeline from the camera to the RPi<\/li>\n<li>Develop transmission pipeline from RPi to cloud server (ownCloud), if time permits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
