What<\/span> are<\/span> the<\/span> most<\/span> signif<\/span>icant<\/span> risks<\/span> that<\/span> could<\/span> jeopardize<\/span> the<\/span> success<\/span> of<\/span> the\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>project?<\/span> How<\/span> are<\/span> these<\/span> risks<\/span> being<\/span> managed?<\/span> What<\/span> contingency<\/span> plans<\/span> are<\/span> ready?<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The most significant risk is the beamforming part of our system. To manage this risk, Charlie and Stella will be working together to get beamforming working. After discussing on Friday, Stella will look through her delay-and-sum beamforming code on Saturday, and try to separate a simulated wave on Sunday. If no bug is observed, Charlie will then come in and work with Stella to figure out the problems.<\/p>\n

The contingency plan is a deep learning speech separation approach. Charlie has obtained significant success in using deep learning to separate speech, but the deep learning model he has used cannot be used in real-time due to processing latency. Nevertheless, it satisfy our MVP.<\/p>\n

Were<\/span> any<\/span> changes<\/span> made<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> existing<\/span> design<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> system<\/span> (requirements,\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>block<\/span> diagram,<\/span> system<\/span> spec,<\/span> etc)?<\/span> Why<\/span> was<\/span> this<\/span> cha<\/span>nge<\/span> necessary,<\/span> what<\/span> costs\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>does<\/span> the<\/span> change<\/span> incur,<\/span> and<\/span> how<\/span> will<\/span> these<\/span> costs<\/span> be<\/span> mitigated<\/span> going<\/span> forward?<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no change to our system design, unless we resort to a deep learning approach to separate mixed speech. This would be a discussion we will have in two weeks.<\/p>\n

Provide<\/span> an<\/span> updated<\/span> schedule<\/span> if<\/span> changes<\/span> have<\/span> occurred.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n
