WeaRable Immersive Sensing Technology

Immersive 3D modeling interfaces, such as hologram pyramids or head-mounted AR displays, require new input devices for high-fidelity interaction. Current trackpad technology on laptops constrains the user to their displays, restricting mobility. We plan to solve this issue by building a system that will allow users to use their forearm as a trackpad to manipulate the view of a 3D hologram. Our system will contain a wearable device with a small footprint, include a 3D hologram pyramid, and have a wireless interface with low latency communication. We hope to integrate swiping and pinching gestures to make interacting with 3D models a more immersive experience.
