{"id":181,"date":"2022-04-17T22:39:02","date_gmt":"2022-04-18T03:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s22-teamb0\/?p=181"},"modified":"2022-04-17T22:39:02","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T03:39:02","slug":"team-status-report-for-april-16-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/course.ece.cmu.edu\/~ece500\/projects\/s22-teamb0\/2022\/04\/17\/team-status-report-for-april-16-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Status Report for April 16, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An overview of what we did:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Allen and Lucky finalized the portions of their subcomponent projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tak, Allen, and Lucky are in the process of shifting to integration<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Portiung Tak\u2019s motion detection to the raspberry pi and camera module<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting Lucky\u2019s subcomponent with a laptop and webcam<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting up the demo shelf<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In terms of what we will do this upcoming week, we hope to do the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Set up the demo shelf parameters<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get the camera setups finalized (i.e. how far away, how high, what angles, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Live testing of subcomponents<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Progress to integration and interconnectivity<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The most significant risks that we know of thus far are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Porting subcomponents to raspberry pi<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We have already come to face difficulty in getting the motion detection onto a raspberry pi and figuring out communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With delays and what not in getting the second raspberry pi, we may be forced to simply use a laptop and webcam for the object detection component and only one of the raspberry pi\u2019s and camera\u2019s for the motion detection<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Latency i.e. meeting user requirements<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After implementing the sliding window technique, we realized the algorithm could potentially take longer than intended, and may face difficulty in meeting the latency standards we set during the abstract and proposal time<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Communication and storage in the integrated system<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Changes To our schedule<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We don&#8217;t\u2019 have any significant changes to our schedule<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If things continue to trend as planned we should be okay with some leeway for troubleshooting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An overview of what we did: Allen and Lucky finalized the portions of their subcomponent projects Tak, Allen, and Lucky are in the process of shifting to integration Portiung Tak\u2019s motion detection to the raspberry pi and camera module Setting Lucky\u2019s subcomponent with a laptop and webcam Setting up the demo shelf In terms of &hellip;
