Our project is the Smart Poker Table, a table that assists dealers and players with technology in real life poker games! The goal of the project is to produce an experience that mimics the information and game fluidity of an online poker game. In real life, players can often find themselves bogged down by counting chips and calculating what the pot size; our aim with the Smart Poker is to keep track of stack sizes and betting amounts using an automated camera tracking system. This information will be displayed to a user-friendly, real-time display as the players bet, allowing all the people involved to focus on the fun of playing the game without the book-keeping. By the end of the semester, we hope to have an accurate system that can be used by any dealer or player, regardless of their technical background.
