Making the USB-blaster cable work took me a while since the USB-Blaster on Linux requires <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.archlinux.org\/index.php\/Altera_Design_Software\">some special setup<\/a>. I spent extra hours debugging the JTAG connection because my laptop&#8217;s USB port\/USB-A-to-C dongle connection doesn&#8217;t work reliably.<\/li>\n<li>My random number generator <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jiulingz\/conFFTi\/blob\/main\/src\/rng\/lfsr.sv\">module<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jiulingz\/conFFTi\/blob\/main\/src\/rng\/lfsr_test.sv\">testbench<\/a> now pass simulation. The output is verified against the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jiulingz\/conFFTi\/blob\/main\/scripts\/rng\/lfsr.m\">Matlab script<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I learned how to use algorithmic state machine with datapath, or ASMD. It is closer to the actual Verilog code than FSMD.<\/li>\n<li>I finished the ASMD of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lucid.app\/documents\/view\/840941e4-b628-4de0-817b-abc85655f1ec\">polyphony control<\/a> that handles MIDI note messages. This design is sufficient for Ckpt 1 (3\/22).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am on schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Next week I will spend most of the time writing the Design Review Report.
